:: The Book of Mormon ::
At Zone
Leader Council it was discussed and concluded that we as a mission were
ready and wanting to read the Book of Mormon together. We had such a
great experience last year when we read it. It was a blessing to our
mission, to each of us individually and even to our families. Many of
you read with us. We will begin reading Monday July 16th. The reading
schedule for the missionaries is six pages a day. We will conclude
reading the week of Oct 15th. We have Zone Conferences scheduled that
week, and will have the opportunity to share our feelings and
testimonies at that time. Those leaving the mission field in
September started reading last Thursday, and will read seven pages a day
to complete before their mission ends. Something that the Zone
Leaders suggested was to read it aloud with companions. When possible
the missionaries will read the Book of Mormon together aloud. We would
love to invite you, to read with us. I also would love to invite all
the missionaries that have served in the great Wa-Tac Mission to read
along with us. President Gordon B. Hinckley declared: "Those who
read the Book of Mormon prayerfully...have grown under its power.
Without reservation I promise you that if you prayerfully read the Book
of Mormon, regardless of how many times you previously have read it,
there will come into your hearts... The Spirit of the Lord. There will
come a strengthened resolution to walk in obedience to his commandments,
and there will come a stronger testimony of the living reality of the
Son of God." I have come understand more firmly, and witnessed the
power that is contained in the Book of Mormon. It changes lives.
