::Decision to go on a Mission::

Cody's entire life he has always had the determination to go on a mission.  When he was in Primary he would sing two songs so loud that you could barely hear the rest of the children.  These two songs were, "I am a child of God" and "I hope they call me on a mission"  How fitting these songs were for Cody.  He was premature and had asthma really bad when he was younger.  We almost lost him a couple of times due to asthma attacks and pneumonia.  I would always hold him upright so he could breathe well and sing "I am a Child of God" to him.  This was a 24 hour occurrence, we would get occassional sleep in 15 minute increments.  Throughout his life he has always stayed focused on being the best Child of God he could be.  When he would stumble and fall, he didn't stay down.  He got right back up and went forward.  What an amazing servant of our Lord he is.  He's always loved doig service for others.  He especially enjoyed Family Home Evenings that included providing service to the elderly, Bishopric or neighbors.  Growing up me and his dad would always talk about Cody's enthusiasm for the Gospel and his definite love for the missionaries.  He always enjoyed waving at them, talking to them, having them over for Family Home Evening and dinner.  We always said what an amazing missionary he is going to become.  He always goes above and beyond what is expected of him.  He faithfully decided to serve the Lord and leave behind so many friends and family that love him so much.  There are many people supporting him by praying for him, attending the temple, writing to him and sending him care packages.  How humble and grateful he is for all of you.  He's also very blessed because he has two of the most wonderful angels on the other side helping him along the way.  He is being helped by his dad and sister Kailie.  What a great experience they will help make his mission become.  Cody is going to do great things in this world because of his faith, values, love of others, humbleness, but most of all because he always puts God first in his life. He has such great faith and a wonderful testimony to share with all who wish to hear it!  Mom and Dad are so proud of you Cody!  Go forward with faith and Return With Honor!
